Academy Conversion April 2026

The Governing Body of Pinehurst Primary School consulted on becoming an Academy under the Academies Act 2010 in 2026.

The Governing Body put forward a consultation around joining Cheshire Academies Trust.

Further information about what becoming an academy means, and how to comment on the proposals, is set out in the documents on this page.

The decision to undertake a consultation was taken following extensive and remarkably thorough work by the Governing Body looking into many different aspects of what it would mean to be an academy and which multi academy trust would be best to support Pinehurst Primary School.

The Governing Body wished to engage in consultation with a broad group of stakeholders and that this can only be done through public consultation.

The final decision was made by the Governing Body post consultation.

The Governing Body welcomed participation in the consultation and provided the opportunity to also to raise any concerns.

This was done through:

Contacting Mrs Katy Glynn, Headteacher, at Pinehurst Primary School

Attending the Parent consultation evening on Tuesday 29th April at 5.00pm at School or the Question and Answers Drop in on Wednesday 7th May at 2.45pm

Emailing [email protected]

There is also more information about academies on the DfE website: http://www.education.gov.uk/academies

The Pinehurst Primary School consultation remained open until 4.00pm on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 and the Governing Body then met to determine the outcome.

The consultation period has now closed.
